This woman is super at what she does. Transformation like no other.
I never wear makeup and was worried I wouldn’t look like myself at my wedding, but from my first call with Christin I knew I was in good hands. She did such an amazing job and I kept receiving compliments all night on how beautiful my makeup looked. It was natural and but glamorous. My hair was also a huge hit!!!! I had no idea what I wanted to do with my hair but with a few pictures and an expert artist, Conceptual Beauty delivered exactly what I didn’t know was perfect for my hair. I asked for minor adjustments from my trial run, and it looked incredible on my wedding day. The hours getting ready with conceptual beauty was some of the most fun I had on my wedding day. Christin’s personality is so kind and fun. I also need to mention that while preparing for my wedding, she responded within minutes of any email I sent, even the ones at late hours or on the weekends. I cannot recommend Conceptual Beauty highly enough!!!!

I can’t say enough great things about Christin and her work. She’s an artist and made everyone feel comfortable, confident, and let their gorgeous selves shine on our wedding day. Upon meeting Christin at the trial, I knew I had found someone who had the expertise to execute my vision. She and her team are professional and know their stuff- she is also fun to talk to, has great taste in music, and is easy to be around- which is important when you spend hours together on an otherwise stressful day. She worked in a timely manner, kept me calm, built a schedule, and tailored her work for ladies with different skin tones and face shapes, knowing exactly what flattered each the most. I honestly felt so beautiful but also felt like MYSELF- a really enhanced version of me ;) As someone who does not wear makeup often, she surpassed my expectations! What more could a bride ask for?

Stunning makeup!
I am so picky about makeup and Christin did an AMAZING job. I keep getting compliments on my makeup and my bridesmaids' makeup. She will do your makeup perfectly regardless of if you want natural makeup or glam makeup, like me! She knows how to give brides the exact look they are going for. She is also super fun to be around so you won't be bored while you're in her chair! Thank you for making me look amazing on my wedding day, Christin!

I had a small wedding party (just my sister) and when I was doing research I found it hard to find makeup & hair artists who would accept me as a client--OR were very slow to respond or provide information. Christin doesn’t require a minimum amount of individuals and was engaging and responsive from Day 1. She made me feel valued even before I was her client, and didn’t rush me when I said I wasn’t ready to commit to anything immediately. I did another trial with someone else first because I thought it was a good deal...but trust me; you get what you pay for. It also made me see the value and importance of professional makeup, and honestly with her expertise and experience Christin is a steal! I appreciated her kindness and patience while I figured this all out on my own. When we finally met in person for the bridal trial she blew me and my sister away with not only her skills, but her warm and hilarious personality. In the months leading up to the wedding she was always incredibly responsive and helpful anytime I had a question. When my hair stylist fell through only a few weeks before the wedding, Christin was able to secure a very talented and experienced stylist (Britiny the Hair Concierge) for us quickly. On the wedding day, they were a ton of fun while getting ready and their work kept us looking and feeling beautiful all day.

When planning your wedding it can be tempting to cut corners on things to try and save money, but makeup should definitely not be in that category. It should be viewed as an investment in yourself and the day, and the relationship between you and your bridal beauty team really helps set the tone for the day. I couldn't have chosen a better bridal beauty team if I tried! They were the best and I wished I could work with Christin every day.

Christin is the best at what she does. Period!
When we finally booked our venue, my next call was Christin. She had done my makeup several times before and had done it spectacularly. Glam gala looks, gothy Halloween looks, you name it - she nailed it. I knew I had to get her help for the wedding if I could. Fortunately for me, she was available! In addition to being one of the best MUAs in DC, she's also one of the most realistic. Christin will tell you what works, what doesn't work, and what's Photoshop in that Instagram makeup inspo pic you bring to the makeup trial. She is so good at setting her clients at ease - so easy to talk to and so adept at making the people in her chair feel comfortable during a time when they could feel vulnerable. I got ready with my family, and most of them had never had their makeup done professionally before. She made sure they were all at ease and brought such a warmth and positive energy. It was so fun to get our makeup done together, and of course we all looked fabulous afterward. Christin also put together a little touch-up kit for me that, frankly, I am still using (you can't waste MAC Velvet Teddy!) You should hire her for your wedding, but also for everything else in your life where a little makeup will do you good. She is simply the best at what she does.

I booked Conceptual Beauty for my engagement shoot and my wedding. I wanted hair and makeup that was more glamorous and done-up than I normally have, as I was going for a fantasy, Labyrinth-inspired look, and Christin did a great job. She checked with me as she did the makeup to ensure that we were on the same page, and was very attentive when I requested a change here or there at the end to get it just right! I'd never had such dramatic makeup before, and to be honest, it looked a bit overdone in person, but in photos it looked great. So that is one thing to consider: decide how much you want to look like you normally do, and whether it's more important to look better in photos or in person (or some balance of the two), as that really helps clarify for Christin what direction to take the makeup in. I'm happy with the dramatic results!

Christin did a fantastic job on my makeup, my bridesmaids, and my mom for my wedding. She was on time and stuck to her schedule and was very professional. She listened to what we wanted and made us all look like movie stairs, from my mom who wanted something very natural to my one bridesmaid who wanted to dramatic smoky eye. I don't normally wear a lot of makeup and was nervous about looking weird, but Christin made me look so glamorous and beautiful, I had nothing to worry about. She knows what she's doing. The best part about working with Christin is she is so nice, friendly, and fun to be around. She had all of us laughing the entire morning while we were getting ready. When you sit in her chair you feel like you're chatting with an old friend. She totally put me at ease at morning of my wedding. I really loved working with her!

Christin was amazing! She made me, my mom, my mother-in-law, and my bridesmaid look beautiful. She made everyone feel comfortable in the way they looked. We did a trial several months before the wedding and she took the time and effort to listen to what we wanted, and then make us look better than we could have expected. She responded to emails incredibly quickly, and was flexible to changes that needed to be made. I have already recommended Christin to my friends getting married in the future, and I will continue to pass her information to anyone who will listen. I will definitely use her in the future for other events for myself.

I hired Christin Michelle to do the makeup for myself, my 2 bridesmaids and the 2 mothers. Christin showed up on time, was professional but easy going and made me look like a model. I don't wear makeup at all so I was very nervous about how I would look on my wedding. My makeup was spectacular! I've never looked more beautiful in my opinion which was echoed by so many guests. I often look at those pictures from almost a year ago now and hardly believe what Christin was able to do with my face in less than an hour. She did as wonderful of a job on both the mothers, and bridesmaids. It's also important to note that she did make-up on more than 1 ethnicity that day and made us all look great. I would love to hire Christin again if I had a special event to go to.

Calm, Professional and Brilliant!
I'm a photographer specializing in Portraits, Candids & Creative Project Photography.. I work with Conceptual Beauty [Christin] very often on my team.. I honestly can't think of a better MUA Professional to call-on when I have a special shoot.. which is always! :) ....So, Christin is definitely my go-to professional for absolutely flawless makeup. Her expert skill level out-weighs everything else, but I have to say how she adapts, listens, then translates each shoot session's concept through "makeup" is amazing to me.. Moods and personalities are important during a photography session.. and once Christin's makeup application is completed, models are always natural, elegant and simply beautiful. This creates even more excitement on the shoot set, presenting wonderful realistic energy in the final images for the session. Throughout the shoots, once she sets the makeup, it lasts - her long lasting make up techniques are wonderful and saves me time (not a lot of breaks for touchups). Just a few other great things to note about Christin.. She has a relaxing personality; professional; punctual; makeup application doesn't take forever; her makeup kit is always prepared; uses quality products; she knows what works & will suit you best; knows the difference between makeup for photography/lights and makeup for special occasion/real-life. I can't stop raving about Christin's artistry. If I could give her 100 stars, that still wouldn't be enough.
First of all, she made my mother feel comfortable. My mom wears very simple make-up, so when we went for my trial, my mom did one at the same time. When Christin was done, mom couldn't stop looking at herself. She took a nap while I got mine done, and made sure to sleep pretty so she wouldn't mess it up.
I've had my makeup done by Christin for other events, so I knew she was good. But her wedding day make-up took the cake, no pun intended. My wife NEVER wears make-up, yet was willing to try because she trusts Christin. When I saw her, she took my breath away. She was able to make my wife look beautiful (and a tiny bit feminine), while not making her look like a drag queen (my wife wore a tux to our wedding).
She did my entire bridal party and one of our officiants. Everyone's look was different, to suit their personalities and complexions. It was nice not to have that cookie cutter look where what works for one person looks terrible on another.
I wish I could share pics so you could see the transformation. Her prices are competitive (and by competitive, I mean cheaper than a lot of people), but her execution was top-notch.
Okay, I'll stop waxing poetic now. Go. Hire. Her.

Chris did my makeup for my engagement pictures, bridal shower, and wedding. For my wedding she also did my entire bridal party including the junior bridesmaids.
I worked for some time in the cosmetics industry and my level of skill is nowhere near hers. She did such a great job that two of my bridesmaids have stated they will use her when they get married and they live out of town. Yes ladies, Chris will travel.
